Flake Ice Machines - Modular Flake - Modular SuperFlake
Modular Flake
The Scotsman Modular flake ice machine range includes four models with a daily production from 120 to 500 Kg.
Each ice-maker is externally finished in stainless steel AISI304 and governed by an electronic control board that monitors the production process.
All models are available for air or water condensing systems.
Scotsman granular ice is one of the most highly regarded forms of ice by catering professionals, fish processors and retailers and can also be used in hospital and laboratory applications.
Produced by a safe and reliable system, Scotsman granular ice is immediately identifiable by its clean, crisp and homogeneous appearance. With a temperature of 0°C and a high humidity level, this ice is ideal for applications where quality standards have to be very high.
MF models are equipped with electronic controls to monitor machine functions to pre-set standards. Safety alarms monitor key-components for malfunctions. Infrared Optical Sensors (IR) are installed to avoid ice spout obstructions.
The IR can also be directly installed on the spout outlet near the bin or the cold room storage and connected directly to the electronic control board. Excellent results have been reached in the reduction of equipment running costs, obtaining a high relation between life production and investment costs.

Modular SuperFlake
The Scotsman superflake ice machine range includes four modular models with a daily production from 320 to 2300 Kg.
Superflake technology derives from a system of consolidation incorporating the installation of a special "ice breaker", on the top of the evaporator. The ice is squeezed and pressed, obtaining the classical flake ice shape but with a significantly lower quantity of water.
The result is a drier ice with a slower melting time.
Scotsman superflakers offer the unique combination of classic granular ice and the added value offered by low humidity ice that increases the life of the ice.
MF models are equipped with electronic controls to monitor machine functions to pre-set standards. Safety alarms monitor key-components for malfunctions. Infrared Optical Sensors (IR) are installed to avoid ice spout obstructions.
Special attention has been given to the specification of components with the aim of avoiding major damage and guaranteeing long machine life.
The Scotsman simple running system guarantees low maintenance costs and short periodical service down times.
The resulting high performance gives a substantial production capacity with reduced operating costs.
THE SCOTSMAN ADVANTAGECo-Axial-ice System.
Traditional static evaporators are unable to cope with the natural shape of flake ice. The Scotsman Co-Axial-ice system incorporates a vertical, cylindrical evaporator with an auger that extrudes ice flakes through an ice-breaker.
The Scotsman solid stainless steel evaporator applies the advanced technology of direct refrigerant expansion to ice production, for maximum durability and efficiency.
The worst enemy for vertical auger style evaporators, are freeze-ups. Scotsmans’ industry leading solution is an advanced solid state control, which measures the speed of rotation of the auger shaft and adjusts machine functions according to operating circumstances.
Scotsman machines are built with stainless steel frames and side panels, for rust-free durability, ease of cleaning and hygiene. Large and accessible ice storage areas allow for quick and easy sanitising routines.
Ice with a low water content is recommended for all high volume commercial/industrial applications, combining slow-melt with moisture exchange for premium-priced perishables and specialised industrial processes.
Ice with a high water content is recommended for those applications where delicate and high moisture products must be preserved.
